Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Overview
Matrizen ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our website and services.
By using Matrizen.app, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Authentication and Google Sign-In
Matrizen allows users to authenticate using Google OAuth ("Sign in with Google").
Google User Data We Access
When you sign in with Google, we access only the following information from your Google account:
- Email address
- Name (if provided by Google)
- Profile image (if provided by Google)
We do not access any other Google services or data, including but not limited to Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or Files.
How We Use Google User Data
Google user data is used solely for the following purposes:
- User authentication and login
- Creating and managing user accounts
- Account security and access control
Google user data is not used for advertising, analytics, tracking, profiling, or marketing purposes.
Storage and Protection of Google User Data
Google user data is stored securely using industry-standard security practices. Access to this data is limited strictly to what is necessary to operate the service.
We do not sell, rent, or share Google user data with third parties.
AI / Machine Learning Usage
Google user data obtained through Google Sign-In is not used to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Notion Data Access
When you connect your Notion account, we access your Notion content only when you explicitly request the generation or update of a website.
This access is used solely to generate your public website content.
We do not permanently store your Notion page content on our servers after website generation is completed.
Analytics Data We Collect
Matrizen includes a built-in, privacy-first analytics system for tracking visitor activity on your published websites. When a visitor loads a page on your site, we may record:
- Page path visited
- Approximate country (derived from IP address — IP is not stored)
- Device type (mobile, tablet, desktop)
- Browser and operating system name
- Referrer URL (where the visitor came from)
- UTM campaign parameters (if present in the URL)
- An anonymous, per-browser visitor identifier (not tied to any personal identity)
- Time spent on page (approximate, derived from activity pings)
This built-in site analytics uses no cookies. No personal information, IP addresses, or cross-site tracking identifiers are stored. The anonymous visitor identifier is generated client-side and cannot be used to identify an individual.
Analytics data is associated with your site and is accessible only to you (the site owner) via your Matrizen dashboard. On Pro and Agency plans, you may generate a shareable, read-only analytics link. Any recipient of that link can view aggregated statistics — no personal data is exposed.
Analytics on the Matrizen Website
The Matrizen website (matrizen.app) does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookies it may set are essential ones required for core functionality, such as keeping you signed in to your account.
Data We Store
We store only the minimum amount of data required to operate Matrizen:
- Email address
- User account identifier
- Authentication provider (Google)
- If you enable two-factor authentication: an encrypted authenticator secret and hashed, single-use backup codes. Neither can be reversed back into a working code from what we store.
- Subscription status
- List of deployed websites and their settings
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics events for your sites
Payment Information
Payments are processed entirely by Polar Software, Inc., our merchant of record. We do not store, process, or have access to your payment details such as credit card numbers or billing information.
Affiliate Payout Information
If you take part in our affiliate program, we store the payout details you enter yourself on your affiliate page — the payment method you choose and the identifier you give us for it (for example a PayPal address or a crypto wallet address). We use them for one purpose only: sending you the commission you have earned.
These details are visible only to you, through your own password-protected affiliate page, and to us. You can change or delete them yourself at any time from that page — deleting them removes them from our records entirely. If you need any help, contact us at support@matrizen.app. This applies only to affiliates — it does not affect regular Matrizen customers.
Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data or Google user data with third parties.
Third-party services integrated with Matrizen, such as Notion and Polar, operate independently under their own privacy policies and do not receive Google user data from us.
Data Retention
Account-related data is retained only for as long as your account remains active.
Notion content is accessed temporarily and is not retained after website generation is completed.
Analytics events are retained to power your dashboard. You may delete your account at any time to remove all associated data.
Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data, including Google user data and analytics records, at any time from your Account Settings page or by contacting support@matrizen.app.
Deleting a single site is handled differently: it goes through a manual review request (via the Delete button on the site card) rather than happening instantly, so it isn't covered by this immediate self-service process. See our Terms of Service for details.
Upon deletion, all stored user data and Google user data — sites, analytics records, and account information — are permanently removed from our systems, except for a minimal record (your email address and the deletion date) that we retain to prevent abuse of our free tier through repeat signups.
Third-Party Services
Matrizen integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google (authentication)
- Notion (content source)
- Polar (payments, merchant of record)
- Vercel (hosting for the Matrizen dashboard and application)
- Cloudflare (hosting, storage, and CDN for all generated sites)
- Resend (transactional email delivery — contact form submissions from your published sites, account notifications, and billing updates)
Each third-party service handles data according to its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their policies for more information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
